I faithful follower NQN wines and Bodega del Fin del Mundo, rarely let me down. I should say that I was doing fana of Neuquén wines because they always are very good price / quality. This is no coincidence, given that the warehouses were born also were projected on the place, with modern technology and surrounded by vineyards fit for the area.
I wanted to stop in to look at both Black's 2009 Pinot wineries, since I like both lines and put them blindly and in parallel for comparison.
MALM Pinot Noir 2009: Winery: NQN
Area: St. Patrick's Chañar - Neuquén
Color: clear ruby \u200b\u200bred, watery violet light, bright and average depth.
Aroma: fruity red berry, plum and spice, some vanilla from the wood, with touches of smoke. Good volume of aroma. Very delicate.
Taste: nervous, penetrating and slightly tannic attack without sweet and has high acidity. Very good balance in the mouth with mouth center and very strong trend towards sides by its acidity, very alive and fresh. Its alcohol content is 14.3 ° and has medium persistence.
Value: $ 32
Quality / Price: Excellent
NEWEN Pinot Noir 2009:
Bodega: Bodega doomsday
Area: St. Patrick's Chañar - Neuquén
Color: maroon clear trend brick, somewhat opaque and shallow .
Aroma: very little fruit, slight hint of wood, strength and low volume of aroma, flat.
Taste: hard, gritty and angular, slightly sweet attack and high acidity. In the mouth becomes unbalanced to the side and slightly forward. Its alcohol content is 14.1 ° and has low persistence.
Value: $ 28
Quality / Price: Mala
Conclusion: the Newen disappoint me, I did not like anything, it takes full advantage Malma in the same price segment. The Malma always been one of the best examples of this variety in Quality / Price and follow that path. I would add that the Malma Pinot Noir 2009 also liked the blog of friend Adrian in:
Then, and for those not so close to this variety, times ahead now that spring to serve with sensual, delicate wines, I leave this "jewel" that can give a very pleasant sensory experience. Add that to poetry ... but it better watch the movie "Sideways" that there is best explained by what means a good Pinot Noir.
